Glaslough Chocolate is celebrating the impact of successful grant applications that have significantly contributed to the company's growth and expansion. The company, known for its artisanal chocolate products, has leveraged the Priming Grant in 2021 and a subsequent Business Expansion Grant in 2023 to establish a state-of-the-art production facility and to upscale its operations.
When first applying for the Priming Grant in 2021, the business recognized the need to adapt its existing business plan to meet the requirements of the grant application. While the process initially seemed daunting, the team found the support from Local Enterprise Office - Monaghan invaluable.
"Like many new businesses, we had a business plan in place, but it needed to be tailored to the format of the application. The enterprise board was very helpful, providing the necessary information and feedback", Brian from Glaslough Chocolate states
To ensure a successful application, Glaslough Chocolate engaged with experienced mentors provided by Monaghan LEO, who guided them through the process step by step. The mentors' wealth of knowledge and expertise helped to make the grant application process manageable and accessible.
"The support available was excellent", said Brian. "Initially, the application can seem daunting, but the mentors provided from SalesPlus were incredibly knowledgeable and instrumental in helping us complete the applications."
The grants received by Glaslough Chocolate enabled the company to establish a fully-equipped production facility with specialized chocolate-making equipment, allowing for increased production capacity and the ability to meet growing market demand. "Without the grants, we would not have been able to buy the equipment needed to help us scale up. We wouldn't be where we are today", Brian added.
